Why preschool piano?

The experts used to say, “Oh, you should wait to enroll your child in piano lessons until he learns to read.” So how many of us parents have read how the brain develops? Does it wait until a child is six or seven? Of course not! Babies in utero can hear the music around them starting around five months gestation. And we all know how quickly they learn. Preschool is the perfect time to establish a musical foundation for your child or grandchild.
But my child will never be able to sit still for a 30-minute piano lesson. Well, these aren’t your mama’s piano lessons. :) 🎹
In my private preschool piano lessons, I primarily use Wunderkeys Piano for Preschoolers to teach your three-five year old children. Wunderkeys is a brightly colored, story-based piano approach with heart-warming, lovable animal characters. It includes rhythm activities, hands-on activities, games, and duets. Children develop many preschool skills necessary for reading and math, including directional movement, one-to-one correspondence, musical patterns, rhythm, and aural awareness (high/low, long/short sounds, etc). I also love to adapt to the child’s interests and learning style. I often add singing, beginning piano improvisation, composing, movement, coloring/art, or iPad games to round out the lessons, and make this beginning musical experience a perfect fit your child.
Your child’s first lesson is always free, so give it a try! My method works, even online. Contact me to get started on your child’s free lesson today!
